The actress Joan Sydney, identified for her roles in long-running soaps Neighbours and A Nation Follow, has died at 83. 

She was once identified with Alzheimer’s illness in 2016 and died on 28 December.

Her long-time good friend and fellow actor Sally-Anne Upton showed the inside track on social media these days.

Ms Upton paid tribute to her “darling colleague”.

“Thanks for all you’ve gotten taught me, love, friendship, many reminiscences shared that will likely be valuable eternally,” she wrote.
